  Profile

Paul Lee was born in Seremban, Malaysia on November 10, 1970. He studied in Singapore at ACPS,ACS and ACJC. He received the B.Sc. (1992) (Matthews memorial prize) and Ph.D. (1996) degrees in physics from the University of London (Imperial College) UK. He obtained the Post Graduate Diploma in teaching Higher Education at National Institute of Education (NIE) (1999). In UK he worked at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory on laser produced plasmas as well as at Blackett Laboratory on z-pinches. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Microelectronics Division of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore (1996-1997). He was a lecturer in the Division of Physics, School of Science, National Institute of Education, NTU, Singapore (1998). He is currently an associate professor in NSSE, NIE, NTU having served as deputy head-outreach and deputy head-research. He has experience in the fields of pulsed power and laser technology, laser produced plasmas, z-pinches, plasma focus devices. He has been actively involved programmes to promote science to students like Physics Olympiads, and mentorship programmes.
