ISEC-Springer Best Paper Awards 2009

To be eligible for best paper awards, your full paper must be submitted online by 15 October 2009.

Applicants will be informed of the decision no later than 30 October 2009.

There are two categories for the ISEC-Springer Best Paper Awards.

  • Category one: for Graduate Students
  • Category two: for Scholars who are not current graduate students

There is one award in each category. The recipients of the award will each receive a plaque (one plaque per award regardless of number of authors) and any two books from the latest Springer catalogue (except for handbooks and encyclopaedias). The awards will be given out at the ISEC 2009 conference.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must have their abstract accepted for ISEC 2009 and have submitted their full paper online by 15 October 2009.
  • Award winners must attend the ISEC 2009 conference in Singapore.
  • For the graduate students’ category, applicants must provide documentary evidence of their student status.

Papers Will Be Evaluated Using the Following Criteria

  • Relevance and significance of topic and research to the field
  • Clarity of research question
  • Thoroughness and quality of literature review
  • Appropriateness of methodology for study
  • Quality and completeness of analysis
  • Clarity and soundness of conclusions
  • Promotion of a continuing research agenda or improved professional practices 
  • Overall quality demonstrating coherence and reasoning
  • Contribution to the cumulative knowledge base of the field

* Should the reviewers find that papers submitted do not meet the standards and criteria set for the best paper awards, no award will be given. The reviewers’ decision is final.
