Research Focus

Biophysics and Theoretical Physics

The group comprises researchers from (i) Biophysics and Bioimaging, and (ii) Theoretical Physics. The Biophysics group is involved with research on laser induced autoflourescence of tumor tissues and the applications of confocal and atomic force microscopy in Biology. Members of the theoretical physics group work on various problems in quantum theory and biophysics using advanced mathematical and computational techniques.  In particular, the group members study problems ranging from tunneling to soliton, from wave propagation to quantum information science, and from foundation of quantum mechanics to foundation of quantum field theory.

Quantum games and strategies (Chen Lai Keat)

Bioimaging techniques and applications (Chia Teck Chee)

Quantum information science and biophysics (Kwek Leong Chuan)

Solitons and wave propagation; Quantum field theory (Foong See Kit)

Quantum tunneling and path integral techniques (Jose Martinez)
