Dr Christine Chin, an associate professor from the Natural Sciences and Science Education Academic Group, received the '2007 Journal of Research in Science Teaching Award' from the National Association for Research in Science Teaching (NARST), USA, for the best paper* published in that journal in 2007. National Science Award for A/P Kwek Leong Chuan & Team

A National Science Award (NSA) has been awarded to the team that made outstanding contributions in the field of quantum coherence and developed an internationally recognised "Singapore Protocol" for quantum key transmission.

Associate Professor Kwek Leong Chuan is part of the team, led by Professor Oh Choo Hiap of the Physics Department at the National University of Singapore, comprising Professor Berthold-Georg Englert, and Assistant Professor Dagomir Kaszlikowski. [News posted 18 Oct 2006]

Outstanding Doctoral Research Award for Dr Lee Yew Jin

Dr Lee Yew Jin's PhD dissertation "Working Out Work: Learning, Identity, and History from the Perspective of Cultural-historical Activity Theory" has been chosen, by the Editor(s) of the Journal of Workplace Learning and their judging panel, as a Highly Commended Award winner of the 2006 Emerald/EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Award in the category of Human Resource Development.
